Captivate and Infinity Training (October 4-7, 2022)

AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT

Recognizing that AutoCAD^® applications vary considerably across different disciplines, CivilTraining, LLC offers AutoCAD training programs taught by AEC professionals which, in turn, helps to move our classes beyond the one-size-fits-all, everyone-draws-gears approach.

Introduction to AutoCAD classes provide hands-on instruction in core AutoCAD, at the fundamental 2D level (AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT^®) and as the backbone for the AutoCAD vertical products such as AutoCAD^® Architecture, AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^® and AutoCAD^® Map 3D.

Taught in small groups, the classes focus on mastery of the essential concepts for the use of AutoCAD in the 2D drafting and 3D modeling worlds, and in support of the demanding Architectural, Geospatial, Surveying and Engineering applications of the vertical products.

AutoCAD Map 3D and Map

The Autodesk^® Geospatial AutoCAD^® products, AutoCAD^® Map 3D and the AutoCAD Map tools underlying AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^®, provide a full-featured set of tools for GIS applications, as well as management of data in Civil Engineering, Surveying and Land Planning applications.

Map classes from CivilTraining, LLC explore the capabilities of either AutoCAD Map 3D or the AutoCAD Map functionality in Civil 3D. The classes serve as an introduction to Map for those interested in its use as a complete GIS toolset, those using Map in conjunction with Esri^® products for GIS applications, or those in the Civil Engineering, Surveying and Land Planning industries who wish to explore the Map capabilities in their AutoCAD^® products.

Two classes are offered in the CivilTraining, LLC Map training program; one class is at the Essentials level, and the other class is at the Intermediate level. Additional advanced level training and consulting on specific geospatial projects and solutions can also be provided.

CivilTraining, LLC Map training is hands-on, using data developed from our years of consulting experience in geospatial projects across a wide variety of industries.

CivilTraining, LLC’s courses are registered Continuing Education classes with the AIA and have received approval in meeting continuing education/professional development requirements for numerous states.

AutoCAD Architecture

AutoCAD^® Architecture is “AutoCAD^® optimized for architecture.” In addition to all the standard AutoCAD tools, it offers a host of features to greatly increase the speed and efficiency of architectural drawings. The software is designed to work from first concept (conceptual design or mass model) through design development, working drawings, and facility maintenance.

CivilTraining, LLC instruction in AutoCAD Architecture provides an intensive hands-on introduction to the core functionality of AutoCAD Architecture. Courses consist of two separate three-day classes, at the fundamental and advanced levels. Students can elect to take the course as a comprehensive introduction to AutoCAD Architecture by taking the classes consecutively, separated by several weeks in the normal scheduling. Alternatively, students can treat these as two different classes at different levels, taking them at different times as needs develop.

CivilTraining, LLC AutoCAD Architecture classes are always taught in small groups, assuring that students receive the individual attention necessary to master the core concepts in the program. This focus, coupled with the intensity of a hands-on program, leads to greater success in utilizing the software following the training.

The two CivilTraining, LLC AutoCAD Architecture classes are registered Continuing Education classes with the AIA, and meet continuing education/professional development requirements for New York and Virginia, and they will most likely meet these requirements in other states accepting AIA registered classes.

AutoCAD Civil 3D - Introduction to Civil 3D

This course provides an intensive hands-on introduction to the core functionality of AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^®, from processing survey information and modeling existing conditions through design functions in layout and grading.

The Introduction to Civil 3D course consists of two separate three-day classes. Students can elect to take the course as a comprehensive Introduction to Civil 3D by taking the classes consecutively, separated by several weeks in the normal scheduling. Alternatively, students can treat these as two different classes at different levels, taking them at different times as needs develop.

The Introduction to Civil 3D program is always taught in small groups, assuring that students receive the individual attention necessary to master the core concepts in the program. This focus, coupled with the intensity of a hands-on program, leads to greater success in utilizing Civil 3D following the training.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Survey

Autodesk^® provides a very powerful survey product within AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^®, but its applications are not widely understood or exploited. Through our training programs, CivilTraining, LLC leverages our twenty-plus years of teaching and supporting surveyors by helping firms make effective use of the Civil 3D program in survey applications.

CivilTraining, LLC Civil 3D Survey classes provide an intensive introduction to the functionality provided within the program. Classes build on the concepts introduced in Civil 3D Essentials, and examine how Civil 3D Survey manages and presents data obtained in the field. Civil 3D Survey training from CivilTraining, LLC is hands-on; some classes include actual field time with the participants’ equipment in data collection and linework generation.

Topics addressed in the Civil 3D Survey classes are appropriate for firms engaged in engineering support or topographic survey, or firms concentrating more on boundary and ALTA survey applications.

Civil 3D Hydrology and Piping

Hydrology and piping components of AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^® have expanded dramatically with the expansion of pipe layout, design and drafting tools, the inclusion of Hydraflow Hydrographs, Storm Sewers and Express, and the release of Autodesk^® Storm and Sanitary Analysis and River Analysis Extension. Other companion products from SmartDraft^® expand these capabilities even further.

CivilTraining, LLC offers training on Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis and Autodesk River Analysis, working with industry leading experts in water resource engineering, hydrology and hydraulics. Recognizing the complexity of these topics, the classes reach considerably beyond a simple recitation of the menus to real-world applications of the products.

Hands-on class offerings in Civil 3D Hydrology and Piping provide design professionals with real-project exposure to these tools in small class settings, providing an opportunity to explore the programs in a training situation facilitating direct exchange with the instructors.

Civil 3D Advanced Topics and Applications

Civil 3D Advanced classes from CivilTraining, LLC focus on design applications and solutions in AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^® that take the program from the basic level and into real-world design scenarios. Drawing on years of design and support experience with Autodesk^® products across a wide variety of industries, the classes address typical requirements in commercial, residential, highway, railway, landfill, stream restoration, mining and other applications.

All Civil 3D Advanced classes from CivilTraining, LLC are hands-on, and all can be custom tailored to the client’s individual project requirements. Many classes at this level can accommodate over-the-shoulder mentoring on the client’s actual project, incorporating productive time on the project with mastery of advanced topics in Civil 3D.

Reality Capture - UAV/Drone, Scanning and Data Extraction

CivilTraining, LLC is pleased to announce the inclusion of reality capture training and consulting to its catalogue of services. CivilTraining, LLC is focused on training industry professionals in emerging technologies such as aerial LiDAR, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry, 3D laser scanning systems, and point cloud data extraction. These new technologies are changing the way we measure, inspect, monitor, and build the world around us.

The knowledgeable instructors of CivilTraining, LLC are not the only thing that differentiates the quality of our training from our competitors. The most important aspect of our training is that it is hands-on and focused around real world application. Instead of teaching hypotheticals and theory, CivilTraining, LLC focuses on teaching content relevant to performing daily operations. Instructors review the core concepts necessary to utilize reality capture technologies, and then begin to guide students through a project from beginning to end. This allows students to acquire the skills necessary to implement and integrate what they learn into their own workflows.

Although CivilTraining, LLC has traditionally trained engineering, survey, and construction professionals, we have expanded our scope to all industries interested in using reality capture. Due to the interest from these alternative industries, which includes public safety, law enforcement, energy and utility, and insurance investigation, CivilTraining, LLC creates a custom course tailored to the audience in attendance.

Leica Infinity

Leica Infinity classes are intended for current users of the Leica Infinity software regardless of experience level. It is also well suited for those considering moving into the Leica Infinity software. The materials are prepared at to be an intermediate to advanced level. Although the classes move along at a lively pace, there will be plenty of time for specific questions from the attendees.

Autodesk Revit Architecture

CivilTraining, LLC instruction in Autodesk^® Revit^® Architecture provides a hands-on introduction to the core functionality of Revit Architecture. This course consists of a four-day class that focuses on teaching Revit Architecture tools built specifically for architects which help deliver higher quality, more accurate model-based designs.

CivilTraining, LLC Autodesk Revit Architecture classes are always taught in small groups, assuring that students receive the individual attention necessary to master the core concepts in the program. This focus, coupled with the intensity of a hands-on program, leads to greater success in utilizing the software following the training.
