StreamNCD is an integrated Windows® based stream restoration design application, designed by Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI), operating within AutoCAD® Civil 3D®. This sophisticated design and drafting software package provides a palette of tools that enable the design of an extremely detailed 3D stream corridor which can then be used for detailed hydraulic modeling and, ultimately, plan set development.
StreamNCD corridor data may be exported for use in HEC-RAS to model the design. The resulting HEC-RAS model data may then be imported within Civil 3D by StreamNCD tools to create Civil 3D profile, section and surface data for the generation of hydraulic model plan set sheets.
StreamNCD provides a suite of typical stream restoration features that are inserted along the reach alignment using the program’s spreadsheet interface to develop a design profile, and ultimately a 3D corridor model. The model is modified as these features are revised, relocated or removed within the interface as desired. StreamNCD enables the designer to easily and efficiently develop multiple detailed conceptual designs prior to developing a final design plan set.
